Recycle Bin is a location where deleted files are temporarily stored in every version of Microsoft Windows since Windows 95. The Recycling Bin allows users to recover files that have been deleted in Windows. The image to the right is an example of what the Recycle Bin may look like in your version of Windows; it can be found on the Desktop.

Use Of Shift Key
When deleting the file, press and hold the Shift key and then press the Delete key together. This is a great shortcut key for users who may want to keep the option of sending files to the Recycle Bin by default, but still be able to delete and not send some files to the Recycle Bin.

Make Disable Your Recycle Bin
Following the steps below will disable the feature of sending files to the Recycle Bin for all files.

  • Right-click on the Recycle Bin icon on the Desktop and select Properties.
  • Select the option for "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" or "Do not move items to recycling bin once deleted."
  • Click Ok.
Important : If you have deleted files through an MS-DOS prompt or shell, this action is permanent and the files will not go to the Recycle Bin.
